Ready to celebrate your school counselors February 2-6? Here are a few ideas to show your appreciation during #NSCW26:

TIER 1

      • Give a shoutout to your school counselor(s) in staff updates or on morning announcements
      • Write an email or handwritten note to say "thank you" for their support of students/families/staff or a specific undertaking or accomplishment.
      • Encourage students to high-five their school counselors during the week
      • Have a few students surprise their school counselor by decorating their office door

      • Treat your school counselor to their favorite school-appropriate beverage or their favorite treat
      • Share their photo on social media (templates linked below) highlighting the role they play in your school and/or their specific undertakings or recent successes. TIER 3

        • Ensure school counselors have the opportunity to attend professional development that is appropriate to their role.
        • Ensure school counselors have the opportunity to network and collaborate with other school counseling professionals on statewide mandates, coordinate programming, and share ideas or resources to bring back to their schools.
