Blair Vincent

Chair of the Board

Dr. Blair Vincent is a counselor educator at Capella University.  She served as a school counselor for 9 years.  She received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and her M.S. in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. 

Blair was selected for the Memphis Leadership Scholars Program at the University of Memphis and received her Ed.S. in Education with a focus in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.  She also received her B.S. in Special Education from the University of Memphis.

She is a regular presenter at national, state, and local conferences. 

Blair is married and has two children.  Blair enjoys reading historical fiction, traveling, working out, and going to the lake.  Blair previously served as Treasurer and President of TSCA and is happy to serve our wonderful organization again!  




Laura Filtness

Co Chair of the Board

Director of Communications & Technology

Laura is a graduate  of MTSU Masters of Education in School Counseling and currently works in Knox. Co. Schools.

She was awarded the 2017 TSCA Elementary School Counselor of the Year and 2016 SMCA Elementary School Counselor of the Year.

She adores her dogs Brooklyn and Boss, loves to read, volunteers with UTK's dog therapy program HABIT.



Tenesha Bullington
Secretary

Tenesha received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Tusculum College and her M.S. in School Counseling from Capella University. She has been with Hamblen County Schools for 13 years as an educator and now serves as a  school counselor at West High School.


Tenesha loves spending time with her family, traveling the world, exploring the outdoors, playing drums, writing, reading, and continuously learning new things.


 

Carla Christian

   Director of Membership


Carla Christian received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary/Special Education from Louisiana

Tech University and her Masters of Education in School Counseling from the University of West

Alabama. She began her education career as a special education teacher and has worked as a

middle school counselor since 2009 in Germantown, TN.


Carla was recognized as the 2017 Tennessee Middle School Counselor of the year, and the 2019

Tennessee School Counselor of the Year. Her school was awarded the RAMP (Recognized ASCA

Model Program) in 2016, the first middle school in Tennessee to receive this award. She has

been a RAMP reviewer for the past three years.


Carla loves spending time with her family, being Nanna to her seven grandchildren, gardening,

and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.



Lindsay Tucker

   Incoming Director of Membership- July 2023


Lindsay Tucker has had the pleasure of being a school counselor for 14 years. She is currently in her 2nd year of my new adventure as a virtual public school counselor for grades K-8 in Clarksville/Montgomery Co.

She is married to her best friend with two kids and two fur babies.  She loves to read and snuggle with her dog, Chewy!


Chloe Lancaster

Director of Professional Development & Education 

Chloe Lancaster Ph.D is TSCAs current board member of Professional Development. She is an Associate Professor  in Counselor Education and former special education middle school teacher and elementary school counselor.

She has 30 peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters focused on in college and career transition for underrepresented student groups, school counseling policy, and substance abuse and trauma.

Her goal for TSCAs Professional Development is to bring current, useful, and relevant trainings to TN school counselors, school counselors in training, and counselor educators.

Lauren Baker

Lauren Baker has worked as an Elementary School Counselor for 14 years. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Ms. Baker lived in Knoxville, TN for five years and now lives in Collierville, TN. Ms. Baker has been a member of TSCA since 2006. She has served as Membership Chair and was President of TSCA from 2016-2017. She was the 2018 TN School Counselor of the Year and has served on the State School Counseling Advisory Council, the State Mental Health Collaborative, and she is a Building Strong Brains trainer. Ms. Baker's professional areas of interest are trauma, restorative practices, and positive behavior support.

Tiffany Wilson

Director of Awards, Recognition, & Scholarships

Dr. Wilson holds a MS in School Counseling and PhD in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from North Carolina A & T State University. Her research interests include trauma and trauma informed care among minority populations and students with disabilities in the K-12 educational system and in post-secondary institutions.

Dr. Wilson currently serves as the School Counseling Program Coordinator in the Professional Counseling Program at MTSU, the Chapter Faculty Advisor of the Mu Tau Upsilon Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society, and the editor of the International Journal of the Whole Child.

She also serves on the Tennessee School Counseling Advisory Council and was the recipient of the 2020-2021 Dr. Charles Thompson Counselor Educator Award. 


Prior to joining the MTSU faculty, Dr. Wilson worked as a high school counselor, career development coordinator, and licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina. As a high school counselor, Dr. Wilson worked at T. Wingate Andrews High School where they were awarded RAMP from the American School Counselor Association in 2012. 


As the Awards Chair for TSCA, Dr. Wilson's goal is to provide opportunity to honor and recognize individuals for their hard work and dedication to the school counseling profession.
