ELECTION resultS

TSCA is pleased to announce the results of our 2026 Board of Directors election! Please join us in congratulating Jacqueline Collins, Jessica Frazier, and Jordan Tatom! These school counselor leaders will take office on July 1, 2026. Learn more about your new board members below!

JACQUELINE COLLINS

I am interested in the opportunity to serve on the TSCA Board of Directors because I am increasingly concerned about policies being shaped by individuals who are not currently serving (or have not recently served) in the school counseling profession. Having worked directly with students and families, I understand the daily challenges counselors face and the critical importance of strong leadership, intentional advocacy, and meaningful professional development.

I am deeply committed to supporting students’ academic, career, and social‑emotional growth. Equally important to me is ensuring that school counselors are highly trained, well‑equipped, and consistently supported as they navigate the wide range of responsibilities inherent in our profession.

Each year, I have witnessed a significant rise in student mental health needs. My passion for promoting initiatives that elevate ethical practice, equity, and expand access to mental health services in all schools.

I would be honored to contribute my experience, dedication, and commitment to service to help advance TSCA’s mission while also continuing to learn, collaborate, and support the organization’s ongoing work on behalf of students and school counselors across Tennessee.

Leadership Attributes

    • Meaningful Collaborative Leadership.  I believe in effective and meaningful leadership with true collaboration. I intentionally build relationships with all stakeholders (i.e. students, parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, custodians, and community partners). I deeply value inclusion and diversity from all perspectives and work to ensure all voices are heard when making decisions.  I believe my approach strengthens the work of school counselors and promotes unity within the profession, schools, and the district.
    • Advocacy.  As I teach students to always advocate for themselves, I lead with a strong commitment to advocacy. I am dedicated to promoting access to academic, career, and social-emotional support for all students. I am not afraid to speak up when policies, procedures, or practices impact students or counselors in a negative manner. My integrity and commitment to fairness guide every leadership decision I make.

JESSICA FRAZIER

After 13 years as a school counselor, I have witnessed significant shifts in our profession—some that have strengthened our impact and others that have challenged our role clarity, capacity, and well-being. These experiences have deepened both my commitment to our work and my desire to advocate for the counselors who carry it forward every day.

I am seeking to serve on the TSCA Board of Directors because I believe in protecting and elevating the role of the school counselor. Throughout my career, I have prioritized data-informed decision-making, equitable access for students, and trauma-responsive practices that support the whole child. I have also seen firsthand the importance of strong professional leadership in shaping policy, providing resources, and ensuring counselors are supported in sustainable and meaningful ways.

Serving on the TSCA Board would allow me to give back to a profession that I care deeply about, while continuing to grow alongside fellow leaders across our state. I would be honored to represent, advocate for, and serve Tennessee school counselors with integrity, collaboration, and purpose.

Leadership Attributes

  • Advocacy is one of my strongest leadership attributes. I believe deeply in protecting the integrity of the school counselor role while also preparing our profession for inevitable change. Over the past 13 years, I have seen how role clarity, data-informed practice, and legislative awareness directly impact our effectiveness and well-being. I advocate not only for equitable student access to comprehensive school counseling programs, but also for counselor sustainability. Strong advocacy ensures we are proactive rather than reactive, preserving the heart of our profession while thoughtfully navigating its evolution.
  • Collaboration is equally essential to my leadership style. Meaningful progress happens when all stakeholders are heard and valued. I intentionally seek input from counselors, administrators, community partners, and state leaders to identify best practices and shared priorities. I believe collaboration strengthens professional unity and promotes innovative, realistic solutions. It also supports self-preservation within our field by fostering connection rather than isolation. When we work together— across districts, roles, and perspectives—we build a stronger, more resilient profession capable of meeting both student needs and counselor well-being.

JORDAN TATOM

I am eager to serve on the Tennessee School Counselor Association Board of Directors because I am deeply committed to advancing the profession and strengthening the impact school counselors have on students across our state. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with students at multiple grade levels, which has given me a broad perspective on the academic, social-emotional, and college and career development needs that evolve from childhood through graduation. My involvement in advocacy work has further fueled my passion for ensuring that school counselors are supported, heard, and equipped to lead systemic change. Serving on the Board would allow me to collaborate with fellow leaders to champion best practices, promote equity and access for all students, and continue elevating the vital role of school counselors in Tennessee schools.

Leadership Attributes

  • Servant Leadership.  I strive to lead with a servant-leader mindset, prioritizing the needs of students, families, and colleagues above my own. As a member of my school’s Instructional Leadership Team and Student Support Services team, I work collaboratively while ensuring responsibilities are shared and goals are met. I believe leadership is about empowering others—listening well, offering support, and stepping in when needed. My commitment to serving others extends beyond the school setting and reflects the values that guide both my professional and personal leadership.
  • Initiative and Advocacy.  I am a proactive, solution-oriented leader who takes initiative to ensure students and counselors are supported. When challenges arise, I actively seek information and resources, reaching out to appropriate stakeholders—including the Tennessee Department of Education—when necessary. I do not wait for answers to come to me; I pursue them. Whether advocating for students, families, or the profession, I am persistent, thorough, and committed to doing what it takes to create meaningful and lasting impact.
